Single-Vehicle Crash near Estelline Results in No Injuries

Northeast Radio SD News - Estelline, SD - Emergency crews from Estelline and the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on the evening of Monday, November 24, 2025, that resulted in no injuries.


The Hamlin County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at approximately 6:47 p.m. reporting a crash on 193rd Street, east of 459th Avenue.


According to the report, a juvenile male, the vehicle's sole occupant, called to report that his car had entered the ditch and that the airbags had deployed.


Upon arrival, a responding deputy spoke with the driver. The driver reported that he had been traveling eastbound on 193rd Street when he became distracted. The vehicle drifted toward the shoulder, struck loose gravel, entered the ditch, and continued for a short distance before becoming stuck in standing water.


Estelline Ambulance personnel evaluated the driver due to the airbag deployment, but no injuries were reported in the crash. BES Towing from Lake Norden was called to the scene to remove the vehicle from the water.
