Traffic Stop Leads to Four Arrests, Meth Seizure in Northwest Watertown

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - A routine traffic stop conducted by a Watertown Police Department officer in the early morning hours of October 4, 2025, quickly escalated into a narcotics investigation that resulted in the arrest of four individuals on various drug-related charges.
The traffic stop, which occurred in northwest Watertown, led to a search that revealed approximately six grams of methamphetamine and multiple syringes. Following the initial arrests, officers executed a related search at the northwest Watertown residence of Vickie Gartside.
During that search, officers located two digital scales, one of which contained meth residue.
The Watertown Police Department was assisted in the operation by the South Dakota Department of Corrections Parole Division, as all four individuals were reportedly on parole at the time of the incident.
Arrested Individuals and Charges
The four individuals arrested and transported to the Codington County Detention Center are:
· Vickie Gartside (70, Watertown, S.D.): Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Place Where Drugs are Kept, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
· Piper Greenough (22, Watertown, S.D.): Charged with Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Driving Without Headlights.
· Mark Moore (40, Watertown, S.D.): Charged with Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
· Eugene Olson (33, Watertown, S.D.): Charged with Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Bond for all four individuals was uniformly set at $2,000 cash.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
