Two-Vehicle Crash Sends Multiple Patients to Hospital Saturday Night

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a two-vehicle collision Saturday evening after reports indicated both vehicles had gone into the ditch and that a victim might be pinned, with smoke visible from one of the vehicles, according to a WFR media release.
Crews were dispatched around 8:00 p.m. on May 23. When firefighters arrived, all occupants had already exited the vehicles. The crash involved a pickup truck and a passenger car, each sustaining significant damage with airbags deployed.
Multiple people were evaluated at the scene, and several patients were transported by ambulance to Prairie Lakes Hospital. Their conditions were not available at the time of the release.
Responding agencies included the Codington County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Watertown Police Department, and Performance Towing. The scene was cleared after patient care, roadway cleanup, and vehicle removal were completed.
