Watertown Area United Way Names Abby and Andy Turbak as 2026–2027 Campaign Chairs

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Watertown Area United Way has selected Abby and Andy Turbak to lead its 2026–2027 annual fundraising campaign, highlighting the couple’s long-standing commitment to community service and local families.

The Turbaks, parents to three children — Atwood, Livy, and Addox — have been active supporters of United Way’s mission for years. Abby works for the Watertown School District, while Andy serves as a Sales Marketing Specialist at KXLG Radio. Both are involved in multiple community organizations and are known for investing their time and energy into efforts that strengthen the Watertown area.

“We’ve always believed that strong communities are built when neighbors help neighbors,” the Turbaks said in the announcement. “United Way brings people together to make a real difference, and we’re honored to help lead this year’s campaign.”

United Way Executive Director Lisa Dahl said the organization is grateful for the couple’s leadership and dedication.

“They genuinely care about this community and lead by example through their service, generosity, and commitment to helping others,” Dahl said. “Their enthusiasm and ability to connect with people will be instrumental as we work together to strengthen our community.”

As Campaign Chairs, Abby and Andy will help rally individuals, businesses, and organizations to support programs that improve quality of life across the region. Funds raised through United Way stay local, supporting more than 28 agency programs focused on four key impact areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.

The 2026–2027 campaign will kick off with a week of community events August 17–21. Details on activities and volunteer opportunities will be released in the coming weeks.
