Brookings Police Seek Public Assistance in Salvation Army Donation Bucket Theft

Police are looking for help finding a man suspected of stealing a Salvation Army donation bucket from the Perkins Restaurant in Brookings.
On Dec. 9 at about 6:13 p.m., Brookings police responded to a report of a man wearing a mask entering the restaurant, taking the donation bucket, and fleeing on foot.
Surveillance video showed the man leaving the area, heading north, passing through parking lots, and eventually going into McCrory Gardens.
Officers followed tracks in the snow but eventually lost the trail.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a black hoodie, a black face covering, dark sweatpants, tan gloves, and boots, and carrying a black backpack with a tan bottom.
