Northeast Radio SD News – Clear Lake, SD - This Friday, April 10, the Deuel County Republicans will host their annual Lincoln Day Dinner at the Clear Lake Community Center. The event features a heavy-hitting lineup of speakers, headlined by Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden and Jon Hansen, the Speaker of the House from Dell Rapids.

According to Chairman Mary Nosbush, the organization has invited all Republican candidates running for statewide and local office in the upcoming June 2 Primary to participate.

Event Schedule and Highlights

The evening will begin with a meet-and-greet from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the formal program at 6 p.m. In a local highlight, preschool students from Deuel School will lead the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.

In addition to the political programming, Deuel County Sheriff Cory Borg will be in attendance to auction off a unique firearm he has donated to support the event.

Federal and Statewide Candidates

Several high-profile candidates vying for state and federal positions are confirmed to attend and briefly address the crowd:

·         U.S. Senate: Justin McNeal, a veteran and businessman from Rapid City who is challenging incumbent Mike Rounds, will be present.

·         Attorney General: Both Austin Hoffman (McPherson County States Attorney) and Lance Russell (attorney and former legislator) are scheduled to attend.

Candidates for state constitutional offices—including State Treasurer and Commissioner of School and Public Lands—will compete for their spots on the General Election ballot at the State Republican Convention in Rapid City this June.

Local and District 4 Races

The dinner provides a critical opportunity for Deuel County voters to hear from candidates appearing on the June Primary ballot.

In the race for District 4 State Senate, Clear Lake business owner Tim Begalka will speak. The incumbent, Senator Stephanie Sauder, is unable to attend.

For the District 4 House seats, seven candidates have announced their bids. Those confirmed for Friday include:

·         Incumbents Dylan Jordan and Kent Roe.

·         Former legislator Fred Deutsch and Milbank farmer Ryan Kohl.

On the local level, the primary race for District 5 Deuel County Commissioner features incumbent Harry Mewherter and challenger Tony Quail.
