Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Watertown Baseball Association (WBA) set a new fundraising record Friday night, bringing in $34,000 during the 2026 Hall of Fame First Pitch Outing at Second Street Station. The annual banquet celebrated the community’s baseball heritage while generating crucial support for local athletes.
WBA Director of Baseball Operations Ryan Neale said the weekend remains one of the most meaningful traditions in the program.
“The Watertown Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend may be my favorite time of the year,” Neale said. “From the moment I make the phone call to let someone know they’ve been selected, all the way through the first pitch ceremonies at Saturday’s games, it’s an incredible weekend that honors the past and celebrates the rich history of Watertown Baseball.”
Funds Support Local Players and Families
All proceeds from the event go directly to the WBA’s general operating budget, helping the organization maintain high‑quality programming while keeping participation fees affordable for families across the region.
Three Inducted Into the WBA Hall of Fame
The highlight of the evening was the induction of Jason Adams, Tanner Neale, and Grant Osthus into the Watertown Baseball Hall of Fame. Each was honored for their accomplishments on the field and their lasting impact on the community’s baseball tradition.
“Congratulations to Jason, Tanner, and Grant on their induction,” Neale said. “Each of them has made a tremendous impact on Watertown Baseball, and it was an honor to recognize their contributions.”
Community Support Drives Record Total
The record-breaking fundraising total was made possible through sponsorships, ticket sales, raffles, and both live and silent auctions. Neale credited the community for once again stepping up in support of local baseball.
He also extended special thanks to the Hall of Fame Committee—Andrea Pitkin, Traci Rabine, Susie Stroup, Kari Lohr, Anne Rylance, Angela Miles, Jamie Olson, and Maddie Engen—for organizing this year’s event.
“We are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped make the night such a success,” Neale said.
